Understanding how survey fraud is evolving — and what it means for your data
A session on emerging patterns in data quality, drawn from live research projects across Rep Data.
Thursday, August 6, 2026 | 12 PM EST
With Steve Snell, Head of Research, Rep Data, and Florian Kögl, Managing Director Rep Data Europe
The landscape of survey data quality continues to shift. AI-assisted responses, changes in respondent behavior, and growing fatigue are appearing more frequently in the projects we work on — often in ways that pre-survey checks alone don't fully capture.
Steve and Florian will share what the Rep Data team is observing across active research: which signals are becoming more common, how in-survey quality checks complement pre-survey screening, and what these patterns mean for the integrity of survey results.
The session includes a walkthrough of Rep Data’s new data quality visualization feature — comparing answer distributions before and after cleaning, question by question — to illustrate how data quality decisions shape the results researchers work with.
What you'll take away
-
An overview of current trends in survey fraud and data quality
-
Insight into how in-survey and pre-survey checks address different aspects of the problem
-
A clearer understanding of how cleaning decisions affect individual question results
-
A practical look at before-and-after answer distributions on real survey data
Who it's for
Researchers, sample managers, and data quality professionals interested in how the field is evolving — and what that means for the data they use every day.
